Hulme Hall is located on a pleasant nine-acre site, just ten minutes walk from the centre of the University. It is also the oldest hall of residence at the University. The original Hall built in 1870, was expanded in 1966 with the addition of five modern residential buildings and new facilities. It was further extended in 1992, with the opening of Burkhardt House, containing 129 en-suite rooms






Catering is of a high standard. All rooms have telephones and wash basins. Refreshment facilities are available for early morning drinks

• By Car : From M62 (East) Leave M62 at J12 and join M602 Salford for 4 miles. At motorway end, join A57 Manchester, joining A57M after 1 mile Leave at A34 (signed Congleton), bear left (following signs for Universities), then get into the right hand lane. At traffic lights, turn right into Grosvenor Street, then left onto Oxford Road. Continue to Dickinson Road, and take a left onto Anson Road
• By Bus : Take the following buses to arrive in the city centre. From Piccadilly Railway Station walk down the station approach to Piccadilly Bus Station. 14, 16, 41, 46, 48, 86, 142, 250. From Cross Street outside Boots the Chemist: 42, 44, 45, 47, 197 From Oxford Road Station walk down the station approach to Oxford Road bus stops outside the Palace Hotel.
