Take the following buses to and from the University and City Centre. 18, 418 and 419. Return fare to the centre is 90 pence. It's only a few minutes to walk from the station to the city centre. The campus is about a mile from the city. If you go into the city for some sight-seeing, you need the 418 bus back from the railway station.
