We stayed as part of a stag weekend so just wanted a cheap but clean hotel for the night as we would not be in the room for long. The main lobby gave a good impression and the staff were very helpful. Once we had checked in we found the rooms to be clean and tidy, but fairly basic as we expected for the money. The bathroom was clean as well, even if the shower had a mind of its own. Overall though we found the place to be exactly what we needed. One word of caution would be if you are a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs due to the train line adjacent

Rooms are small and could do with a paint. But all said, this place is good value for money. It is 20 yards from the tube station on the Central line (Bethnal Breen) which is one stop away from Liverpool Street station making travel very easy. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. For central London, this is great value for money. There is also a little cafe a couple of doors down (Nico's) serving great food with generous servings at a very reasonable cost.

I'm a frequent guest at City View Hotel, the only 2 good things about this hotel, first the staff are really nice and friendly, 2nd the underground is just outside the hotel entrance. As the second building next to the hotel the service, cleanliness, or maintenance is non existent, showers are in a terrible state since 2 years ago. Basically the place is falling apart, its more like a squat but you have to pay to stay

The room was very well presented. However, I did think that the passageways and toilets needed to be upgraded
