A Typical Room at London Northwest Hotel
 |
 |
As London Northwest Hotel is low-cost accomodation, you should expect your single, double, triple or quad room to be quite basic, but well maintained. Surprisingly, all of the 40 single, double, triple and quad rooms have the luxury of an ensuite shower room so you don’t have to worry about sharing with other guests. You will also find a colour TV in your room that you can watch after busy days. If you need a hairdryer, iron, ironing board or microwave, these are available on request too.

I stayed for 4 nights. TV never worked. I missed my flight and had to cancel, the manager was very nice, but charged the full amount of stay, even after deposit was paid.

It's a nice hotel for a short and cheap stay. Staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was good. Very close to the tube. I would probably stay there again!

The two rooms were clean but the shower in one room was either hot or cold and in the second room the water flow in the shower was slow. Breakfast only continental but ok. Kitchen staff were friendly. WiFi works.

This is terrible. Firstly, when I arrived, only the cleaner who doesn't speak English was there. I waited for 20 or 30min before the only staff came back to give me the key. I paid for a single room, the room was on the top of the 2 stories flat, and I was a traveller from Hong Kong carrying large luggage. The room was one of those with a sloped ceiling, because it was on the top floor. I had to walk stooped when I went to the toilet. The most terrible part came - there was no hot water in the room. They had a water boiler, the light was on, but there was just no hot water. I MEAN IT, NO HOT WATER. Further, I discovered that there were no towels, but it was too late by then. I went down to the reception, no one was there. There was never anyone in the reception. THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE PERSON WHO CAN HELP YOU. That staff at check-in was nice, but he was always not there. The next morning, I told the cleaner (the only other staff). She said she knew nothing and asked me to wait til 11am before I could see the reception guy. He reassured me and said the hot water problem was due to some road works blah blah blah. I trusted him, but again that night when I came back, no hot water again. It was a nightmare. Though some towels were provided the next day. There was nothing in the room, except the bed. THE HEATER WAS NOT WORKING. The only good things were, the Wi-fi which was ok, (it was a service provided by BT), signal was strong, though sometimes despite having the signal you could not get connected, but you manage to learn to reset the router yourself...) And, the staff was friendly, though there was not much they could do. The price was real cheap. I am not sure if you pay for a double room they should be better! I saw those rooms on the lower floors and they seemed nice. The breakfast was good. Toast, juice, ham and cheese and egg, coffee or tea. The breakfast was the best thing that I had in the trip. Overall, I would prefer not to stay here again next time sorry, unless they made sure the heater and the hot water were stable. (Please..) And at least they can try to leave a number at the reception so that you know you are not left alone in the building when you need any help. And one thing, this was not related to the hotel. It's about the district. The district was kind of a poor area. I always saw people shouting and arguing on the street and I felt unsafe. Once I was having dinner in a Chinese Food Restaurant nearby the overground station, someone even came into the restaurant, said "I am not a beggar but my mother just died, can you give me some money etc..." It felt dangerous. Be careful. Though no one ever actually came to do anything to me.
