I liked the food at Links Hotel. Also there's a 24 hour bar! No lifts. It's basic and I did not think it was very clean (but I can be very particular about these things I suppose). It's not too expensive though so I think it all worked out okay

Links Hotel is very basic, but you get what you pay for - if you're not really fussy you'll be fine! I actually enjoyed the stay, my bed was comfortable and I wasn't in Edinburgh to sit in my room anyway. The breakfast was really tasty and I liked having a bar on the property. All in all I was pleased with my choice

Can't have any complaints for a 3 star hotel. Terraced Victorian building. Friendly staff, including the wee blonde barmaid. Lively bar. Decent breakfast, with the cooked food made to order. Room was quite wee, but easily big enough. Good sized bed. Clean en-suite. Warm even though it was freezing outside. And a decent location if you don't mind a 15 minute walk through the Meadows.

Stayed just 1 night at the Links, it was ok but probably wouldn't stay there again! The reason being is it was quiet shabby for a hotel, the room was tiny, the carpet (not just in our room) was filthy dirty, 2 of the lights blew when we turned them on, we had to keep the window open with the tea-bag box - a bit of updating & maintenance wouldn't do any harm! Saying that I found the staff to be very nice & helpful. The Scottish breakfast was good too, but they could do with a new toaster!!
